Roaming the streets and neighborhoods of the city

They are one of the most important parts of our daily life but they also include some of the biggest questions that concern us, even fleetingly, passing through the streets that lead us to work, school, shopping, our walk. The streets, the squares, the points we use to orient ourselves or give directions. The "signs" with names and places that we see every day in every corner of our city.

Who was Michael Karaolis? Grigoris Auxentiou? Dimitris Yetion? The Partridge? Delasalle? What was the Green Mill? The Bridge of Sighs? The “Romanian”? And why do these names seem so familiar to us, even though we usually don't know the answers?

The Municipality of Neapolis-Sykies has created a separate website, gathering very interesting, rich informational material about the people and places that gave the names to our streets and squares, in the four Municipal Units that make it up. A project that magnetizes us on the paths of history with a simple "click", acting both as a "tutorial" of knowledge about our place, and as a magical, digital journey through the streets and neighborhoods we pass through every day, which the readers will certainly see with a different eye knowing the background and story behind the blue sign on their street corner.
